The internet is buzzing about the beautiful bond between orangutans and otters at a Belgian zoo. The unexpected friendship between these two different animal species has piqued people's interest throughout the world, and it's absolutely adorable to witness.

When the zookeepers connected the otters' river to the orangutans' enclosure at Pairi Daiza Zoo in Brugelette, the two animals grew friendly. Since then, these two animals have developed a unique friendship that is both comforting and nearly miraculous.

Mathieu, who told the story to Bored Panda, said that otters and orangutans enjoy playing hide-and-seek and other chasing games. The adolescent orangutan named Berani searches for the otters, which cunningly conceal themselves beneath massive tree trunks or wooden structures. It's rather entertaining to watch when the otters come out to taunt him!

The orangutans relocated to Pairi Daiza Zoo in 2017 from Germany. The otters have since taken pleasure in socializing with their "big furry friends," particularly Ujian, the father, and baby Berani. Both animal species now have more enjoyable and fascinating lives, and the experiment has been a great success.

However, palm plantations pose a threat to orangutans in Borneo and Sumatra. In order to protect native orangutans and restore a forest in Borneo, the Pairi Daiza Zoo has raised money to plant 11,000 trees.
